OUR STORY

Turning Passion Into Possibility

Helping Dreams Take Flight began with a simple belief: that the magic of aviation should be accessible to all — not just the privileged few.

Founded by a small team of aviators and aviation enthusiasts, our charity was born from decades of flying experience, a love of aircraft, and a shared determination to open the skies to more people — regardless of age, ability, or background.

Too often, aspiring pilots are grounded by circumstances beyond their control — financial hardship, disability, or a lack of opportunity. We set out to change that.

A Watch Company with a Purpose

The idea for the charity was first sparked through The Flyer Watch Company — a family-owned British watch brand inspired by aviation and committed to giving back. What started as a way to fund a few scholarships quickly grew into something much bigger.

As the number of watch customers grew, so did the impact. Within our first year, we had already funded flying and gliding scholarships, supported disability flight programmes, and formed lasting partnerships with organisations including The Air League, Aerobility, and Recreational Aviation Australia.

To ensure transparency, structure, and independence, Helping Dreams Take Flight was formally established as a registered charity — a Foundation Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by trustees.

Why We Do What We Do

Flying has the power to lift people — physically, mentally, and emotionally. It can build confidence, develop new skills, and unlock new paths in life. But most importantly, it offers hope and inspiration.

Whether someone is overcoming a personal challenge, exploring aviation for the first time, or chasing a lifelong dream, we are here to support that journey.

This is more than aviation. This is about dreams — and helping them take flight.
