Meet Our 2026 Scholars: Rachane Bryan-Henderson
A lifelong aviation enthusiast from London, Rachane has completed his Helping Dreams Take Flight powered flying scholarship at North Weald.

How it started
Rachane has wanted to be a pilot for as long as he can remember. He joined the Air Cadets at 12, had his first trial flying lesson at 16, and came to us with 11 hours of flying at Denham Aerodrome.
"There is something incredibly grounding about maintaining altitude, trimming correctly and anticipating the aircraft's behaviour." – Rachane
A big leap
Rachane is preparing to leave a career in advertising to study for an Aviation Management degree alongside his flight training. Alongside his job, he has completed an AI-focused apprenticeship, which led to an invitation to 10 Downing Street to discuss technology with the Prime Minister and industry leaders.
He keeps his skills sharp with regular simulator practice, and attends air shows and industry events whenever he can.
His scholarship – completed
Rachane has now completed his powered flying scholarship at Aviation Academy, North Weald. We visited him during his training and saw first-hand how much he was getting from the opportunity. It was great to see his enthusiasm for flying and to watch another of our first scholars complete their award.
What's next
Rachane plans to complete his PPL alongside his degree, then work through his ATPL exams and ratings towards a career as an airline pilot. He also hopes his journey will inspire others who feel the cost of learning to fly is out of reach.
Every one of our 2026 scholarships was made possible by the generosity of our supporters, including SkyDemon. Thank you for helping dreams take flight.
