Meet Our 2026 Scholars: Rebecca Ceato
A science teacher from Berkshire, Rebecca is now airborne at Duxford on her Helping Dreams Take Flight powered flying scholarship.

How it started
Rebecca is a science teacher, Head of Year 11 and Deputy Head of House. She teaches the principles of forces and aerodynamics, and flying has let her experience them far beyond the classroom. She came to us with around eight hours across gliders and powered aircraft, after a summer spent at a local gliding club watching airside operations.
"Many had never considered aviation as an option, so being able to introduce them to it has been particularly rewarding." – Rebecca
Inspiring the next generation
Rebecca has helped establish a state-school flying club, run with British Young Pilots, where she talks to students about aviation careers and the science of flight. She is a member of the Air League and Elevate(her) and regularly attends their webinars and careers events.
She regularly speaks with pilots to learn from their experience as she prepares for airline cadet programme selection.
Her scholarship – training underway
Rebecca is now completing her powered flying scholarship with Classic Wings at Duxford and has flown her first couple of hours. We visited her at Duxford, and it was fantastic to see her airborne and making the most of the opportunity.
What's next
Rebecca's goal is to become a commercial airline pilot. She is applying to airline cadet programmes, with modular training as her alternative route, and she's looking forward to sharing her flying experience with her students to show them that this path is achievable.
Every one of our 2026 scholarships was made possible by the generosity of our supporters, including SkyDemon. Thank you for helping dreams take flight.
